What inspires great writing?

On this Sunday morning I decided to write a piece on inspiration. So what inspires you? Let’s take a look at various sources of inspiration.

1) Art: Does art inspire you? Of course it does. Art is a look at humanity from the highest vantage point. It’s the gateway into the imagination of the artist, what that person felt when they created it. Yes, I can feel the creative juices flowing.

2) Family:What about family? Do your parents inspire you? Mom? Dad? Or your sibling(s)? What about Sons and Daughters? Nieces and Nephews? Whenever I spend time with family, especially the little ones, I feel inspired to go write, they have such an uplifting effect. I’m sure the same goes for you.

3) Belief:Having something to believe in can inspire us. This is natural. You don’t have to be ultra-religious to have belief, but that helps too, so long as you keep it positive and never stray down the path of fanaticism. Even if you don’t believe in a higher power, there are plenty of other things to have faith in: your health, friends, hobbies, pets. What do you believe in?

So there you have it. The three main things that can inspire us to do greater things. I’m sure you can think of many more, as each of us is unique in their own way.

So…what inspires you?
