Why is Art important to Humanity?

Can you imagine a world without art?

I can’t.

But why is art so important, what makes it special?

Many things. The fact that every piece of art comes from someone makes it unique. Art is the end product of everything that makes us human. And art isn’t exclusive to the person who created it, art is created and shared with all of humanity, for everyone to enjoy.

Art of the past begets art of the future. Every generation has something to offer the artistic collective. Whether through sculpture, painting, filmmaking, or writing.

Don’t you think this is true? I mean, who do you think inspires today’s artists? The artists of the past. I’m sure there are those who are inspired by other contemporaries, but those contemporaries were in turn inspired by the past.

The universal truth is that, there cannot be humanity without art. Art is humanity’s gift to future generations.

That’s what makes art so special.

So what do you think? Do you agree with me? Disagree? I’d like your opinion either way.
