Is your Author website guilty of these infractions?

Let’s face it, no two websites are alike. Some stand out and others, well, let’s just say they’re guilty of the following big three mistakes:

1)Wrong Fonts: You sure don’t want to be guilty of this. Inappropriate fonts that are too big or two small or illegible can ruin your website’s engagement factor and send your traffic scurrying off to another site to get information. Make sure that when you fine-tune your site you have words and headers that aren’t too fancy or just plain over-the-top. If you’re having trouble with this be sure to have a professional design your website.

2)Too many advertisements: Don’t get me wrong, advertisements are a great way to earn some extra income, but just like anything else in life, you really don’t want to overdue it. Too many advertisements can be distracting, and take away from the message you’re trying to convey on your website. Keep advertisements minimal, and never, ever have pop-ups.

3)Too many links on Menu header: Again, let’s keep it simple. If you’ve got more than 8 links on your webpage menu header, that’s going to distract your visitors. Nobody wants to waste their time searching for information. We live in a “right now” society, where everything needs to be served up fast.

There are other infractions that can ruin a potentially effective website. But the 3 I’ve mentioned are the most common and worst offenders. If you’re an artists trying to sell/display your work, or a business trying to build new accounts you simply cannot afford to have a shabby website.
