How to keep your creativity intact


How does one keep their creativity from heading south for the winter?


By focusing.

If writer A is worried about how many books writer B is selling, then that only hurts writer A’s work, thus writer A’s creativity is sapped. This is applicable to any form of artistic endeavor.

The best way to let your creativity flow is to ignore distractions. Focus on how you’re going to make today a productive and creative one. Because the other guy/gal, the one you’re worrying about, trust me he/she isn’t worrying about you, they’re only worrying about their own work.

So, if you must worry, then worry about yourself, or better yet, leave worry at the door and just…
