I love to read and write. And, if you’re reading these words, I’m assuming you do too. Or, at least one of the two.
So why am I writing this? Simple. To tell you how special books are. Whoever said: “The Pen is mightier than the sword” wasn’t kidding. Books entertain us, educate us, heal us.
How? Funny you should ask that.
Both fiction and non-fiction books are special: they both provide healing in different ways.
For example, a non-fiction book for self-improvement, is just that. If read and incorporated into the reader’s life correctly, can be worth more than a million dollars in the bank.
Yep. I’m not kidding. But wait, I’m not done yet. Read on my friends.
Fiction is great too. We, the readers, invest our precious time getting to know the characters, experiencing what they experience, living through them and experiencing a wide range of emotions. And, if a character can transform himself/herself by the end of the story for the better, we, the readers, feel validated. It’s even better than sex. No I’m not insane in saying that.
Why do you think so many people read? They’re not just killing time. Nobody wants to kill time. Because time is precious. Once its gone, man, it’s gone.
People read to heal themselves. Yep.
Books, like good friends, are worth so much, and, when a book has great information, or realistic characters we come to love, its like we’ve improved ourselves. Ascended to a higher level. It’s time well spent.
Because, the purpose of being human is: to improve ourselves.
Thanks for reading,
